DINO & PANDA: A SURREAL LOVE STORY
Art and Story by Elaine Kao
...for the ones who love...
...for the ones who hurt...
...for the ones still waiting...
...for the one I dreamed of...

1. Would we meet by chance?
Once upon a time, in a world not unlike our own, there lived a little panda. She was a sweet little animal with a really big heart, and loved to see everyone smile. Everyday, Panda would wake up with a big smile on her face as she looked forward to exploring the forest where she lived.
One day while Panda was playing in her favourite tree, she saw two birdies - Tika and Charlie. Before long, Charlie flew away with a sad expression on his face. Panda scurried over to Tika and asked her what happened. Tika explained that her heart had been captured and she could not love anyone else, even though Charlie loved her so dearly.
"When you meet someone who can touch your heart, the whole world looks different. When you fall in love with that someone, nothing else matters. All you want is to be with that someone and to make them happy. No one else can take their place," said Tika as she flew away.
Panda didn't really understand. It all sounded so complicated! She climbed up as far as she could and tried to think clearly. "I still don't understand," frowned Panda, "will I have to search far for this someone? Where will we meet? When will we meet?"
